The Annual General Meeting of February 17 was well attended. Bert Wieringa conducted the election of the board for 2008 in the capacity of chairman of the Nominating Committee. With no nominations presented and the sitting board willing to serve another year, 2008, this board was voted in by acclamation of the members present.
During our March 16th picnic at Al Lopez Park we enjoyed excellent weather conditions. Attendance was great. I thank our participants for their generosity in bringing salad, dessert and yes... “poffertjes” made on the spot on a gas burner. We had an excellent day!
Due to renovation, the family Schreuder’s residence is not available this year for the traditional outdoor party. Instead, and made possible with the help of Jan v/d Sluis, I am happy to announce that on Sunday April 27 our Hollandclub will give a Reception at the occasion of Koninginnedag 2008 hosted by our Hollandclub and sponsored by University Village.
Last but not least we want to thank Peter and Iwona Dost-Gorecka who will soon repatriate to Holland. As a couple they took care of our website and were regular participants in our events. We will miss you guys and wish you well.
